Job Summary

A vacancy has arisen for a Flt Lt (Air & Space Ops Air Ops (C)) or a WO (Air & Space Ops NCC) to serve as Air Traffic Control Officer at RAF Cranwell on Full Time Reserve Service (Home Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 03 August 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status; however not before 25 May 2026 as position is currently occupied).

Applicants for this post must hold or have held a Military Air Traffic Control Certificate of Competency (F5994) validated with Aerodrome Control (Visual) and Aerodrome Control (Precision Approach) or equivalent.

On the Job Training (OJT) will be given to any candidates not holding current RAF Cranwell local operating endorsements (LOEs) and they will be expected to validate and maintain those endorsements as published in Battlespace Management (BM) Orders.

The individual will be responsible via the recognised Chain of Command (CofC) to the Senior Air Traffic Control Officer (SATCO) for the provision of a safe and expeditious air traffic control service in accordance with the MAA Regulatory Articles Manual of Military Air Traffic Management (MMATM) and associated BM Orders through the endorsements held and in support of 22Gp priorities and Defence output.

The successful candidate will be expected to hold all operational endorsements and will also be required to undertake Supervisor/ATCO IC duties.

Furthermore given the continuous turnover of staffing within the Sqn the successful applicant will be expected to assume a full and active role within the Unit Trg Team undertaking Instructing/Screening Duties as required.

There will also be a requirement as part of routine shifts to work evenings and weekends according to operational requirements. Requisite time off in lieu will be awarded on a tactical basis.
