Days here are busy hands-on and varied from supporting learning in the rooms to stepping back to review practice mentor staff and ensure standards remain high across the nursery. This Deputy Nursery Manager role combines time in ratio with dedicated leadership responsibilities giving you real influence over quality team performance and the day-to-day running of the setting.
Before You Apply
- This role requires a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
- You must have experience in a senior or room leader position within a nursery.
- This position is not suitable for candidates without leadership experience in Early Years.

What Youll Need

- Experience as a Room Leader Third in Charge or similar senior role
- Strong working knowledge of the EYFS framework
- Confidence supporting staff performance and practice standards
- Clear understanding of safeguarding and compliance requirements
What Youll Do
- Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery
- Deputise in the Managers absence
- Lead practice improvements and monitor EYFS delivery across rooms
- Coach and mentor staff to maintain high standards
- Oversee observations planning and assessment quality
- Ensure safeguarding health and safety procedures are consistently followed
