DescriptionThe Safety and Systems Engineering unit within Maritime Advisory is responsible for a broad range of services covering environmental compliance risk assessments system risk assessments alternative design assessments including fire safety and system analyses with focus on alternative fuels. This includes external customer projects as well as internal support and R&D projects.
As part of our Risk Assessment team you will contribute to support clients in the maritime industry with risk assessments that address fire safety life-saving appliances evacuation performance and navigational safety. For example you may be involved in evaluating the equivalency of innovative solutions aboard passenger and cargo ships assessing the adequacy and accessibility of life-saving equipment and analysing evacuation procedures to ensure swift and safe disembarkation during emergency situations. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing passenger ship safety by helping yards and operators comply with international safety regulations and implementing best practices to protect lives at sea.
The primary place of employment will be Hamburg Germany.

Qualifications- Bachelor or Master student ideally with focus on naval civil or mechanical engineering (esp. Safety Engineering Fire Safety Engineering Hazard Control)
- Background in risk assessment methodologies or fire safety engineering would be advantageous
- Good command of English language
- Working knowledge of MS Office tools
- Application of AI tools
