The objective of this assignment is to coordinate the design and delivery of GLFs knowledge-led convenings while strengthening the integration of evidence narratives and partnerships to support organizational priorities. Working closely with the GLF Director the consultant will ensure that insights generated across GLF are translated into strategic narratives convening agendas and engagement processes that contribute to policy finance and practice influence in alignment with GLFs Theory of Change and MELIA framework.
1. Thought Leadership Narrative Development and Knowledge Framing
Coordinate the development of strategic narratives and thought leadership positioning GLF across climate biodiversity and land use
Translate evidence and emerging insights across GLF programs partner networks and trends into clear compelling framing for convenings outreach and external engagement
Ensure alignment of knowledge narratives and convenings with GLFs Theory of Change (ToC) and MELIA framework
Shape and coordinate proposals and concept development ensuring strong evidence-based arguments and coherence with GLF strategy with GLF management and program focal points
Identify emerging trends and opportunities to inform organizational positioning and priority setting
Participate in GLF management meetings contributing insights from convenings and knowledge processes to support coordination alignment and decision-making
2. Strategic Convening and Knowledge Integration
Lead the design and delivery of GLF flagship convenings including agenda-setting concept development thematic framing and format design
Synthesize insights across GLF programs (Community & Action Learning Sustainable Finance) partners and research (including CIFOR-ICRAF) to inform integrated and forward-looking convening agendas
Ensure convenings are knowledge-led and connect multiple perspectives
In close collaboration with the Digital Communications team co-design narrative strategies and integrated campaigns that translate GLF knowledge and convenings into broader engagement and influence
Facilitate innovative creative and outcome-oriented formats that enable exchange co-creation and collaboration
Ensure convenings deliver clear outputs and follow-up actions
3. Policy Finance and Practice Influence & Strategic Partnerships
Align convenings and knowledge outputs to strengthen GLFs contribution to policy finance and practice outcomes
Support positioning of GLF in global and regional policy processes and dialogues
Work closely with the Partnerships Officer and Regional Coordinators to leverage Charter Members and strategic partners for influence and impact
Identify and support strategic engagement opportunities that advance GLFs role as a trusted convenor and knowledge platform
4. Team Coordination and Delivery Oversight
Coordinate and guide the Knowledge Team providing clarity on priorities roles and workflows to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of GLF events and in collaboration with GLF program teams
Work closely with the GLF MELIA Officer to ensure convenings and knowledge processes generate and feed evidence into MELIA
Maintain oversight of delivery processes while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and available resources
Required Skills:
Masters degree in Environmental studies Sustainability or a related discipline Minimum 5 years managing knowledge-led convenings including digital and hybrid formats engaging diverse stakeholders (policy research civil society local community youth finance and private sector) Proven experience managing teams coordinating and monitoring multidisciplinary projects in international and multi-stakeholder contexts Experience in knowledge communication translating technical scientific or Indigenous knowledge into accessible formats for diverse audiences Experience working at the science-policy-practice interface. Prior involvement with SDGs Rio conventions (CBD UNFCCC UNCCD) or other global environmental policy processes is desirable Fluency in English is essential; other languages (esp. French Spanish Indonesian German) are an advantage
