OVERVIEW
AtkinsRéalisis seeking aBridge Engineer-In-Training (EIT)to join ourStructures EastTeam. This is anentry-levelposition and is based out ofRaleigh North Carolina.
YOUR ROLE
Execute draftingfocused work producing bridge plans and sheets to learn foundational bridge terminology components standards and how a complete plan set is assembled.
Support senior engineers with plan production detailing assembling specifications and performing basic calculations to build handson familiarity with bridge elements and construction requirements.
Progress through increasingly advanced design responsibilities starting with componentlevel design then moving into systemlevel analysis and eventually contributing to full bridge design as skills and professionalproficiencygrow.
Prepare material for reports including gathering information writing rough outlines andassistingwith documentation and graphic presentations.
Perform data acquisition and analysis researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches evaluating site conditions and reviewing relevant regulatory agency specifications or requirements.
Participatesinprojects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with easily interpreted specifications;assistsin recordkeeping and in generating progress reports;observesrelatively simpleconstruction procedures; and collects samples for quality control testing.
Performs field observations of construction whereappropriate.
Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to timedeemnecessary.
ABOUT YOU
EXPERIENCE:0-2 Years of professional experience in a related technical field is preferred.
EDUCATION:Completion ofBachelorsDegree in Civil Engineeringfrom an ABET accredited college/universityor CivilEngineering Technologyfrom an ABET accredited college/university.Masters Degreehighlydesirable.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Basic computer skillsto enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office.
Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred).
Proficient interpersonal andcommunicationsskills.
Capability to develop technical writings and reports.
PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS:Engineer Intern (EI) orEngineer-In-Training (EIT) Certificationis. Offers will be made contingent uponobtainingEI/EIT certification fromlicensingboard (preferably NCBELS).

ABOUTATKINSRÉALIS
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Expected compensation range is between$75000-$85000annuallydepending on skills experience and geographical location.
