Minimum Qualifications:
Masters Degree Plus Two (2) years nursing experience with Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; APRN/CPN License
Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
Must be able to operate all typical nursing equipment essential to performing the job (i.e. scales procedure equipment needles blood pressure equipment and EKG machines).
Must have normal communication sensory requirement.
Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions when indicated.

Responsibilities:
Conducts thorough history and physical exams for patients with serious complex or life-limiting illnesses.
Assesses pain and other distressing symptoms (nausea dyspnea anxiety fatigue sleep difficulty).
Gathers health data and integrate findings into clinical decision-making.
Evaluates psychosocial and spiritual needs as part of whole-person care.
Diagnoses and manages symptoms related to the disease and its treatment with a focus on enhancing quality of life.
Prescribes medications (including pain and symptom control) and recommend other therapeutic interventions within your scope of practice.
Adjusts treatment plans based on patient progress and goals.
Interprets diagnostic tests and labs as needed.
Leads or facilitates goals of care discussions ensuring patients and families understand prognoses and care options.
Supports advance care planning (e.g. living wills advance directives).
Collaborates with the palliative care physician team social workers chaplains and other specialists to support patient-centered care.
Refers and coordinates care with community providers hospice programs and support services when appropriate.
Participates in regular interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and care plans.
Serves as a key communicator between patients caregivers other clinicians and support staff.
Advocates for patients goals preferences and best interests across care settings.
Educates patients and families about disease processes expected outcomes symptom management strategies and resources.
Maintains accurate timely records of assessments interventions prescriptions and outcomes.
Follows professional ethical and regulatory standards (e.g. Arkansas APRN Practice Act).
Completes documentation that supports clinical care and appropriate reimbursement.
Engages in quality improvement efforts clinical protocols or research initiatives as relevant.
Provides education to other clinicians trainees and the clinic team on palliative care best practices.
Provides emotional and psychosocial support for patients and family members dealing with serious illness.
Addresses spiritual cultural and social dimensions of care alongside clinical needs.
May perform other duties as assigned.
