Position Overview
The Operations Manager will lead daily operations within a fast-paced manufacturing support environment. This role is responsible for warehousing kitting inbound and outbound logistics and close coordination with manufacturing to support final assembly and production schedules.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on people-focused leader with a strong manufacturing mindset who can drive operational excellence while developing high-performing teams. This role offers meaningful operational ownership and a clear career path to Senior Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
Lead daily operations supporting a manufacturing facility including warehousing inventory management kitting and shuttling components to the production plant.
Manage a single-shift operation with responsibility for scaling to a two-shift model as the business grows.
Ensure operational execution aligns with safety quality service and cost expectations.
Team Leadership & Development
Directly manage 7 8 salaried managers and oversee approximately 90 100 hourly employees.
Foster a positive respectful and accountable work environment emphasizing collaboration and fairness.
Maintain a strong floor presence and lead by example with flexibility resilience and hands-on support.
Coach mentor and develop a growing management team to drive performance and engagement.
Inbound & Outbound Logistics
Oversee daily inbound and outbound operations managing approximately 15 20 inbound loads and 20 25 outbound loads per day.
Ensure timely and accurate material flow to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
Establish monitor and enforce KPIs related to safety quality delivery productivity and cost.
Lead root cause analysis for operational issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency consistency and scalability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with manufacturing teams to align kitting inventory availability and shipping schedules with production requirements.
Serve as a key operational partner to ensure alignment with customer and production goals.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
Proven experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing-support environment.
Strong background in warehousing shipping transportation and inventory management.
Experience leading frontline managers and large hourly teams.
Preferred
Experience with kitting or line-side support operations.
Exposure to production-driven or just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing environments.
Leadership & Behavioral Competencies
Hands-on leader with high emotional intelligence and strong communication skills.
Ability to remain composed and effective in fast-paced high-pressure environments.
Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving capabilities.
