Job Summary

WellBe Senior Medical is a physician-led risk-bearing healthcare organization delivering high-quality in-home care to frail elderly Medicare Advantage patients. As an Actuarial Analyst you will support the growth of our actuarial function by evaluating modeling and valuing new business opportunities providing insights that directly influence strategic expansion and value-based contracting. Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support new business valuation including:
  • Extracting cleaning and validating large-scale medical claims eligibility and revenue datasets using SQL & Python
  • Performing experience analyses (utilization cost trends risk adjustment revenue adequacy)
  • Developing financial projection models to forecast contract-level performance under varying scenarios
  • Assist in monthly financial reporting and presentations for leadership decision-making
  • Develop and maintain IBNR models for accurate financial reporting
  • Support underwriting and clinical intervention analyses using statistical modeling and machine learning to project future revenue improvements

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science Mathematics Statistics or related field

Experience:

Passed at least 2 actuarial exams and pursuing actuarial credentials

Minimum 1 actuarial internship or 1 year of actuarial experience; 13 years preferred

Skills:

Analytical and detail-oriented

Collaborative and team-oriented

Strong interest in mastering complex actuarial concepts

Persistent disciplined and able to communicate clearly

Proficiency or willingness to learn Excel SQL and Python

Certifications/Licenses:

None beyond actuarial exams

Physical and Mental Requirements

Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Ability to stand/sit for extended periods

Visual acuity and fine motor skills

Travel locally or nationally up to 10%

Work Environment

In-person at Chicago office with remote work options for eligible employees

May require travel to patient locations as needed
