Leidos is seeking a Distribution Planning Engineer to join our distribution planning team in Pune India. It is expected that this role will involve the execution of distribution planning Load flow & short circuit arc flash and coordination studies distribution protection and could also involve DER interconnection studies and self-healing systems as project and client needs dictate. Studies would be conducted primarily as part of EPC projects and sometimes for US based utility clients. The growth potential of this position is significant for a well-qualified candidate.

As a Distribution Planning Engineer you can expect to:

  • The candidate should possess solid analytical distribution planning experience including load flow for both traditional planning studies short circuit studies time coordination studies and arc flash analysis. Familiarity and experience with US distribution policy and regulatory issues is also considered a plus.

What Sets You Apart (Background Requirements):

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related engineering degree is required and 2 years of experience.
  • Experience functioning in a technical role in distribution studies and capable of conducting studies under the direction of a technical supervisor(Lead) is strongly desired.
  • Experience in conducting load flow short circuit and relay coordination using IEEE standards.
  • Experience supporting arc flash studies using IEEE and NFPA standards.
  • Developing reports and recommendations based on study results
  • ETAP knowledge is a must . PTW SKM experience is a plus.
  • Must possess strong communication skills including listening writing and presentation skills.
  • Must be a team player able to work collaboratively with many different people with diverse backgrounds and geographic locations.
