Job Description:
An HR Officer in a steel manufacturing company
manages the full employee lifecycle focusing on recruitment statutory compliance (Factories Act PF ESI) payroll and industrial relations within a plant environment. Key tasks include onboarding performance management contractor labor management and fostering a safe productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Onboarding:Sourcing interviewing and hiring skilled/unskilled labor engineers and staff along with conducting orientations.
- Statutory Compliance & IR:Ensuring strict adherence to labor laws Factories Act safety regulations and managing relationships with unions and contractors.
- Payroll & Benefits:Managing time office attendance salary processing and employee benefits.
- Performance & Training:Conducting performance appraisals identifying training needs and organizing safety training.
- Employee Relations:Handling grievances resolving conflicts and maintaining a positive productive atmosphere.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education:MBA/PGDM in HR/Personnel Management or MSW (Master of Social Work).
- Experience:28 years in HR with specific experience in manufacturing or steel plants preferred.
- Knowledge:Strong understanding of labor laws industrial relations and compliance (DLC factory inspector).
- Skills:Proficiency in HR software/payroll systems excellent communication and strong conflict resolution abilities.
Commonly Required Proficiencies
- Industry Knowledge:Familiarity with rolling mills sponge iron units or ferro-alloy units.
- Compliance Expertise:Knowledge of safety regulations and labor laws is critical.
- Contractor Management:Overseeing contractor labor and ensuring compliance.
