Manager System and Database Operations
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager System Operations is responsible for the planning implementation maintenance and optimization of the organizations critical IT infrastructure and operational systems. This role ensures the continuous availability performance and security of all systems aligns operations with business objectives and leads a team of professionals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the daily operations of all enterprise systems including servers storage operating systems (e.g. Linux Windows) and virtualization platforms.
Ensure high availability reliability and optimal performance of all production systems and services through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
Manage system capacity planning resource allocation and performance tuning to support organizational growth and efficiency.
Lead the planning and execution of system upgrades patches and migration projects with minimal business disruption
Develop implement and enforce IT operational policies procedures and best practices focusing on security compliance and data integrity.
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security protocols disaster recovery plans and backup procedures.
Ensure all systems comply with relevant industry regulations and internal security standards
Serve as the escalation point for critical system issues and incidents leading the troubleshooting and resolution process.
Drive continuous improvement through post-incident reviews root cause analysis and implementation of preventative measures
Identify opportunity for automation selfservice
Negotiate and manage complex contracts with key vendors including hardware suppliers software providers cloud providers and telecom carriers.
Develop and manage the capex and opex budgets for all infrastructure cloud and operation services.
Lead mentor and build high-performing teams of infra engineers architects and operations. This includes managing managers and fostering a culture of reliability security and innovation.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
ACADEMIC TRAINING
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
5 years of progressive experience in IT Systems Administration or Operations with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Deep technical knowledge of operating systems (e.g. Linux Windows Server) virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure).
Proven experience with system monitoring tools incident response platforms and configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible Puppet Chef).
Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP DNS DHCP routing firewalls).
Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage technical teams and communicate complex issues to non-technical stakeholders
SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Extensive understanding of functional and technical IT architecture including server network databases applications and interfaces.
Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for innovation that can give the company a competitive advantage and effectively communicate the value of IT initiatives to C-suite executives and other business leaders in non-technical terms.
Experience in engaging internal and external commercial and technical stakeholders to drive both solution development and adoption
Strong customer and business orientation.
Ability to work in a constantly changing and fast-paced environment. Experienced in effectively executing multiple tasks while working with conflicting priorities.
Ability to handle situations involving urgent changes.
Well developed impact analysis skills with the ability to see the big picture impact of decisions/actions.
Have the ability to work with external suppliers/vendors and ensure all communications are received on a timely manner
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish good working relationships with others.
Open to change with a learning attitude towards work teams and customer service. Monitors own work for quality. Promotes quality work.
Strong presentation and writing skills.

For candidates whose primary place of work will be in Massachusetts the expected salary range for this position is $105 000 $157 400. For candidates whose primary place of work will be in Cleveland OH the expected salary range for this specific position is $95 400 $143 000.
This range represents the annual salary or hourly wage that Breezeline expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. Individual pay is determined by various factors including but not limited to job-related skills relevant experience education and specific work location.
