Role Overview
We are seeking a highly capable Controller / Associate Controller to own and oversee day-to-day accounting operations for a growing organization with multiple entities and complex reporting requirements. This role is both hands-on and strategic responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records while gradually elevating processes controls and reporting quality.
The ideal candidate is a senior-level accounting professional who is comfortable operating with minimal oversight running the books end-to-end in Sage Intacct and collaborating closely with U.S.-based leadership. Strong English communication sound judgment and a proactive mindset are critical as this role will serve as a key partner to management in financial decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities
Own the day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities maintaining accurate and timely records in Sage Intacct with minimal supervision.
Process and review expense data from Fyle ensuring proper coding approvals and seamless integration into Sage Intacct.
Maintain general ledger integrity including journal entries accruals adjustments and intercompany activity.
Execute and oversee monthly close including account reconciliations variance reviews and preparation of financial statements.
Prepare recurring financial reports such as liquidity summaries NAV or management reports and ad hoc analyses for leadership.
Ensure accounting is maintained across multiple dimensions (e.g. tax basis accrual basis fair value reporting) and understand how these views interact.
Establish document and refine accounting processes controls and reporting frameworks to support scale and audit readiness.
Support accounting system optimization and future transitions or enhancements beyond Sage Intacct as the organization grows.
Collaborate closely with U.S.-based executives and finance leaders communicating clearly on status risks and recommendations.
Assist with audits internal reviews and special financial projects as needed.
Required Skills and Abilities
Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
8 years of accounting experience with demonstrated progression toward controller-level responsibility.
Strong command of U.S. GAAP and full-cycle accounting across multiple entities.
Hands-on experience running books in Sage Intacct.
Experience processing and managing expense platforms such as Fyle or similar tools.
Ability to work confidently with multi-dimensional accounting structures (tax accrual fair value entity-level reporting).
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables XLOOKUP data validation reconciliations).
Proven ability to operate independently identify gaps and proactively solve problems.
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal); clear confident and professional presence.
Strong ownership mindset attention to detail and reliability in a remote environment.
Ability to work US hours with flexibility once independently working in the role depending on client preferences.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience supporting growing companies family offices investment structures or multi-entity organizations.
CPA or equivalent professional certification.
Experience leading or mentoring junior accounting staff.
Background in accounting system implementations or migrations.
Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana or .
