The Opportunity
Our Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) team is seeking an experienced infection control nurse for a permanent full time /permanent part time role will be reporting to the Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Manager you will join a team dedicated to the infection surveillance prevention and control program in our high acuity hospital.
Assist with end-to-end IPC processes
Promote safe effective Infection Prevention Control practices
Coach guide and educate staff in best practice
Participate and coordinate case review investigations
About You
You will be an experienced Infection Prevention and Control Nurse who has an excellent understanding of IPC guidelines standards and requirements for healthcare settings.
You are able to convey information and ideas clearly and concisely to individuals or groups in an engaging manner that helps them understand and retain the message listening actively to others.
You will enjoy working in a fast environment have excellent attention to detail and be a strong advocate for embedding best practice.
You will be experienced in influencing staff managers and VMOs enjoy the collection and analysis of data and be able to advocate for the highest of standards.
You will work closely with clinical teams across the hospital to identify and manage healthcare-associated infections and support the implementation of transmission-minimising strategies. Coordinating daily Infection Prevention and Control service activities including auditing and targeted surveillance of healthcare-associated infections.
Prepare reports.
To be successful in your application you will:
Hold AHPRA registration (essential)
Have excellent knowledge of IPC Programs
Have excellent communication skills and a strong desire to collaborate with internal stakeholders
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Sound computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite & database management
