Preferred post-secondary degree in social work type programs or two (2) years of experience in related field.
Successful completion of Federal/State Required Skills Exam.
Must meet the requirements for a criminal record check as specified by Kentucky state law.

JOB GOAL and RESPONSIBILITIES:
To refer provide and facilitate services for individuals and families through collaboration and coordination to enhance students ability to succeed in school and successfully transition into adulthood.
To direct and assume overall responsibility for the administration program operation and staff of the Family Resource and Youth Services Center by addressing goals core and optional components:
Family Resource Centers Goals
- To assist families including new and expectant parents in enhancing the parenting skills that can promote the full educational development of children;
- To promote the healthy growth and development of children by assisting families to identify and address any home or community barriers to a childs success in school;
- To ensure that families have access to and are connected with appropriate community resources;
- To encourage social support linkages and networks among families thereby reducing isolation and promoting family involvement in school activities; and
- To generate optimal parental and family involvement by offering learning and service opportunities that will enable parents and other family members to participate in center and community activities as providers participants and volunteers.
Youth Services Centers Goals
- To promote young peoples progress toward capable and productive adulthood by assisting them to recognize their individual and family strengths and to address problems that block their success in school;
- To promote supportive peer group relationships among young people and supportive relationships among young people their families and persons in the school and community in order to develop positive self-esteem and competence;
- To generate optimal parental and family involvement by offering learning and service opportunities that will enable parents and other family members to participate in center school and community activities as providers participants and volunteers; and
- To assist young people to make effective use of community resources including employment and training resources and health mental health and social services resources as necessary
Family Resource and Youth Services Center Coordinator Job Description
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes harmony and good will with the public in a manner that merits their respect and service as an advocate of children and families.
- Prepares and administers the center budget and supervises all finances. Prepares and submits the centers budget requests and monitors expenditures of funds.
- Prepares and administers FRYSC Grant with cooperation from the Advisory Council.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of all center clients and functions.
- Supervises the daily operation of center.
- Maintains adequate inventories of property.
- Leads in the development determination of appropriateness and monitoring of all center activities.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule when necessary.
- Supervises and evaluates all activities and programs that are outgrowths of the centers operation.
- Conducts mandatory Advisory Council meetings and keeps members informed of regulations policies changes and new programs.
- Maintains a program of public relations and communications in order to foster positive understanding and support of the centers objectives and programs.
- Assumes responsibility for all official center correspondence and news releases.
- Ensure program compliance by administering funding allocations work plans maintaining records recruit and facilitate advisory council meetings compile required reports attend mandatory meetings supervise center staff and provide staff and volunteer training.
- Coordinate center programs by conducting needs assessments review relevant data establish measurable goals and objectives identify community resources design and implement new programs evaluate program outcomes and obtain resources for the center.
