We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cost Analyst Co-op to join our team. This position will support our efforts in cost reduction financial reporting and budget analysis. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has an analytical mindset is detail-oriented and is eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end close activities (spend analysis / journal entries /accruals).
- Daily tasks related to billings/blocked billings cycle count postings costing of materials transfer price request etc.
- Analyze operational expenses by specific cost categories.
- Review spending variances and trends.
- Assist in the Budget and Forecast of assigned categories.
- Ensure accurate standard costs are set in the plant SAP system for material (3rd party/intercompany).
- Support updating and or enhancing/creating PowerBI Dashboards.
- Analyze and report on margin analysis by assigned product lines.
- Assist in planned and actual labor/overhead rate calculations.
- Document new/existing processes with work instructions.
- Other responsibilities include but are not limited to participating in special projects system improvements or ad hoc analyses/projects as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field.
- Min. 2.5 GPA
- Demonstrated interest in accounting and manufacturing operations.
- Strong analytical communication and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint)
- Ability to use excel formulas such as Vlookups Xlookups If statements.
- Familiarity with PowerBI Data Visualization.
- Interest and support of continuous improvement of processes.
