As a Referral Coordinator you willbe responsible forserving as a specialist in the coordination of all aspects of specialty referrals; both incoming and outgoing eligibility verification and maintenance for outpatient clinic patients. You will obtain andmaintainaccurateclient information and verify withappropriate agencies. You will also reportaccuratedata and statistics for referrals as needed. Referral Coordinators ensure that processes in each work queue are completed accurately and efficiently in compliance with all governing/internal policies.
POSITION DETAILS:ThisFull-Time positionwill support the team of 7 Oncology providers in Boise Nampa and Ontario. This position will work a FT schedule (some flexibility in scheduling). Primary responsibilities will beensuringthat all referrals authorizations medical clearancesetcare obtained for each patient ina timelyfashion. This position will also play a large role in scheduling new patient appointments. The Nampa Oncology clinic islocatedat 4400 E Flamingo Ave #130 Nampa ID 83687.
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalentAssociatedegree preferred
1 year of healthcare related referral experience 3 years preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Process and approve referralsaccording to network and practice policies.
Obtain and verify documentation eligibility benefits and insurance requirements.
Track and update referralsin the EMR system ensuring accuracy andtimelycompletion.
Communicate with providers patients and insurance companiesto resolve issues and gather missing information.
Compile and send medical datato specialists; schedule diagnostic tests if needed.
Ensure compliancewith HIPAA and organizational standards.
Maintainaccuratepatient recordsand update charts with specialist consults.
Educate patientsonreferral details and expectations.
Serve asliaisonand internal consultantfor staff; train new Referral Coordinators.
Performadditionaladministrative tasks including appointment reminders and backup coverage.
