Job Summary

Job Description:

A Head of Plant Operations in a steel manufacturing companymanages daily production safety quality and maintenance to meet output targets and budget goals. This senior role requires 1030 years of experience a B.E./ in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering and expertise insteel melting shop(SMS)direct reduced iron(DRI) or structural steel ensuring compliance efficiency and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:Manage daily manufacturing activities including production schedules maintenance and raw material logistics to ensure on-time delivery.
Performance & Efficiency:Increase plant output asset capacity and machine uptime while reducing costs and waste through Lean Manufacturing TPM and 5S practices.
Quality Control:Maintain high product standards by troubleshooting defects monitoring manufacturing processes and ensuring ISO 9001:2015 compliance.
Safety & Compliance:Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols (OSHA EPA) and environmental regulations to achieve a zero-accident record.
Financial Management:Develop and control the plant budget managing operational expenses and optimizing resource allocation.
Team Management:Recruit train mentor and lead a large workforce to foster a productive and collaborative environment.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education:B.E./ in Mechanical Production or Metallurgical Engineering.
Experience:1630 years in the steel industry with at least 510 years in a senior plant leadership role.
Technical Skills:Deep knowledge of steelmaking processes (e.g. DRI SMS Rolling Mill Structural Steel Fabrication).
Soft Skills:Strong leadership communication strategic planning and problem-solving abilities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Achievement of monthly/annual production and dispatch targets.
Maintenance of quality standards (low rejection rates).
Control of production costs and operational expenses.
Zero accidents and high safety compliance.
