Job Summary
In accordance with the Mission Vision and Values and strategic directions of Vancouver Island Health Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA and as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager or designate performs skilled plumbing work for a multi-site operation at the journeyman level in the installation alteration and repair of plumbing systems; install test maintain and repair natural gas lines appliances equipment and accessories and inspect and test cross connection and backflow prevention systems
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber Class B level Gas FittersLicense recognized by the Province of BC. Valid Certificate of Competency as a CrossConnection Control Specialist issued by the American Water Works Association British Columbia Section. Two yearsrecent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Ability to organize work.
