Cybersecurity Trainee

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Trainee to join Heidelberg Materials Digital Hub Varna.

About the role:
The Cybersecurity stream supports the organization by strengthening our cyber defense and ensuring compliance with internal and external security requirements across multiple countries.
As a Cybersecurity Trainee you will work closely with the Regional Security Officer supporting cybersecurity operations governance activities and awareness initiatives in an international environment.

Your next challenge:
Collaborate with the Regional Security Officer on daily cybersecurity tasks projects and ongoing initiatives across several countries
Support compliance activities related to frameworks and regulations such as NIST and NIS2
Contribute to vulnerability management processes including tracking findings and following up with responsible stakeholders
Support the preparation and execution of phishing simulations and security awareness campaigns
Assist with maintaining security documentation collecting audit evidence and preparing reports
Coordinate with IT teams business units and local security contacts to ensure alignment and timely follow-ups
Maintain structured overviews of risks action items and regional security activities
Support security awareness initiatives and promote a security-first mindset across the organization
Learn and apply AI tools to improve efficiency in daily security-related tasks
Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity threats trends and best practices
Your profile:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters degree program in Cybersecurity Information Security IT Computer Science or a related field
Strong interest in cybersecurity and motivation to develop in the field
Structured organized and detail-oriented working style
Proactive mindset with the confidence to communicate and follow up with stakeholders
Strong team player able to collaborate with senior security professionals
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Willingness to learn and use AI tools in daily work
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Cybersecurity certifications or ongoing certification efforts are considered a plus
