About the Opportunity

Star Nursing is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing Labor and Delivery to provide strategic clinical and operational leadership within a perinatal services environment.

This leadership role oversees departmental performance staff development and quality initiatives to ensure safe efficient and high-quality maternal care. The Director works closely with administrative and clinical teams to support regulatory compliance operational excellence and patient-centered care delivery.

Position Summary

The Director of Nursing Labor and Delivery provides oversight for departmental operations staffing performance and clinical standards. This role leads teams manages resources and ensures compliance with state federal and accreditation requirements while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety and outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and model excellence in patient care and professional practice
• Supervise mentor and develop clinical leadership and nursing staff
• Delegate responsibilities and drive accountability across the department
• Manage departmental budgets and resource utilization
• Serve as a key member of the administrative leadership team
• Ensure compliance with regulatory accreditation and quality standards
• Support performance improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Respond to operational challenges emergencies and evolving clinical needs

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• May assist with patient movement and lifting (up to 25 lbs)
• Periods of standing walking bending and reaching
• Exposure to clinical care environments including infectious conditions
• Interaction with patients across a wide range of care situations
• Participation in emergency or urgent response situations when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Current CPR certification
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery preferred)
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience at manager or director level
• Bachelors degree required

Preferred Qualifications

• Progressive leadership experience in hospital-based nursing operations
• Strong knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards
• Demonstrated experience managing budgets and clinical teams
• Ability to lead through change and complex clinical environments
