About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced IP Litigation Paralegal to join our Tampa office and support complex intellectual property disputes in federal courts and administrative proceedings. This role offers hands-on involvement in patent trademark and other IP-related litigation matters including proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
You will work closely with attorneys on technically sophisticated cases managing critical deadlines organizing complex evidence and supporting strategy through trial and resolution. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented proactive and comfortable handling highly technical materials in a fast-paced litigation environment.
Skills:
- Experience with federal court procedures and rules (FRCP and local rules)
- Familiarity with USPTO adversarial proceedings (e.g. TTAB cancellation and opposition proceedings UDRP proceedings)
- Ability to handle highly technical materials prior art references and expert reports
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and complex dockets
- Proficiency with electronic filing systems (CM/ECF and PACER)
- Experience managing large document productions and eDiscovery workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys experts clients and vendors
Key Responsibilities:
- Support litigation activities in federal courts including preparing pleadings docketing filing drafting case summaries coordinating document discovery drafting discovery responses and assisting with trial preparation
- Prepare proofread and electronically file pleadings motions and briefs using CM/ECF and PACER
- Prepare exhibits appendices deposition materials and trial binders
- Support Patent Office adversarial proceedings including TTAB cancellation and opposition proceedings and UDRP matters
- Maintain case calendars deadlines and litigation dockets using docketing software (Compulaw preferred)
- Organize track and manage large volumes of technical documents and prior art references
- Coordinate document collection processing review and production with internal teams and vendors
- Manage eDiscovery platforms (Relativity) conduct document review and prepare deposition files
- Summarize deposition transcripts expert reports and technical materials
- Assist with managing trial databases demonstratives and real-time transcripts
- Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy preparation
- Support IP portfolio management clients with docketing and reporting as needed
- Assist with budgeting billing and matter management
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Additional duties as assigned
