At Neville Hill youd be part of the production team keeping our traction and rolling stock moving including third-party fleets. This isnt just about fixing faults. What youll be doing

No two shifts are quite the same but you can expect to:

• Service maintain repair and overhaul traction and rolling stock to Northerns specifications
• Carry out fault diagnosis using mechanical electrical vehicle building and plumbing principles
• Complete minor plant and equipment repairs where needed
• Work closely with your Production Team Leader to prioritise workload and meet production targets
• Operate plant and equipment in line with your certification
• Follow safety quality and environmental procedures including ISO9001 ISO14001 and occupational health and safety standards
• Collect and return tools materials and equipment responsibly
• Support teammates and step into other tasks where youre competent to help keep production on track
• Undertake activities such as patch painting surface preparation welding brazing burning and air conditioning maintenance where qualified

Youll be trusted to manage your time juggle priorities and keep standards high all while helping the team deliver safe reliable trains.

About you

You know your way around rolling stock and the systems that keep it moving.

A Level 3 NVQ in a relevant discipline or a recognised apprenticeship thats the foundation. Alongside that youll bring:

• A solid understanding of mechanical and electrical principles plus plumbing and vehicle building systems
• Confidence reading and interpreting schematics air hydraulic and electrical
• The ability to operate mechanical and electrical equipment safely
• A careful approach to technical and safety instructions
• Clear communication skills and the confidence to work on your own initiative

Youll also be open to further competency training as a safety-critical environment learning never stands still and neither do you.
