MR Licence would be considered advantageous

Role:

• Carry out a variety of road construction and road maintenance activities;
• Perform set up and clean up tasks at job site;
• Lay formwork and concrete for footpaths kerb gutter and pits;
• Bitumen road repairs utilising cold mix or bitumen emulsion;
• Setting out signage for traffic control or new installations;
• Duties associated with traffic facilities such as fencing erecting and replacing signs signposts and guideposts;
• Pipe laying duties including backfilling and road restoration;
• Proactively contribute to team discussions and liaise and communicate with fellow crew members and supervisors regarding work activities daily programs etc;
• Ensure that timesheets are being completed and submitted to your supervisor daily;
• Correct care and use of plant and equipment (including use of all personal protective equipment) in accordance with manufacturers instructionssafety policy and work procedures;
• Report any plant or equipment repairs required to the supervisor and complete all administrative requirements in this regard;
• Some after-hours work may occasionally be required;
• Undertake any other duties as are reasonably within the limits of the employees skills competence and training.

Requirements:

• Ability to cope with physical labour. Evidence of having completed training in manual handling load restraint and SWNELP would be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated ability to operate small items of plant including quick cut saws and power tools.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Previous experience with road construction and maintenance labouring work will be an advantage.
• Demonstrated attitudes and behaviours which reflect and align with the Road Construction and Maintenance Branch workplace culture.
• Possession of a MR or HR truck drivers licence or a plant operators ticket such as roller bobcat or backhoe would be highly regarded.

• 30215 Qld General Safety Induction Card (also known as White Card).
• Current C class drivers licence.
