Qualifications:
Texas Driver License
Peace Officer License and Advanced Peace Officer certificate from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement
Must have at least five years of successful supervisory experience within Katy ISD or a law enforcement agency of comparable size or larger
Able to work day evening and night shifts with varied days off
Primary Purpose:
Under administrative direction oversees directs and supervises all activities of assigned division personnel provides law enforcement services where needed and provides a positive adult presence among students.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate with other divisions bureaus departments supervisors and administrators.
- Supervise train and schedule assigned Katy ISD Police personnel.
- Evaluate the performance of all assigned Katy ISD Police personnel.
- Prepare review and revise offense and incident reports as required.
- Make sound recommendations about personnel selection placement transfer retention and dismissal.
- Serve as a law enforcement resource to students and district personnel.
- Establish and maintain an ongoing working relationship with other law enforcement personnel and juvenile authorities serving the school community.
- Provide a random patrol or perform support duties when not assigned to another specific duty when needed.
- Appear in court as a witness or complainant when needed.
- Provide a general and consistent adult and law enforcement presence at critical locations on District facilities and at District sponsored events.
- Respond to natural and man-made disasters such as hurricane tornado fire etc. (where District personnel are required).
- Keep supervisor informed of all issues pertaining to the effective operation of the Police Department.
- Enforce Board Policy and Administrative Regulations where applicable.
- Other duties as assigned.

District vehicles lethal and less lethal weapons firearms handcuffs alarm systems security equipment personal computer typewriter and copier
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress; strenuous walking standing and climbing; ability to operate a motor vehicle; ability to control sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously; may be subject to adverse and hazardous working conditions including violent and armed confrontations; work outdoors in varying climate conditions; drive in different areas of district at odd hours; and may be on call 24 hours a day.
