Job Description
As a Security Officer - Access Control Driver in Rensselaer NY you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare and more. As an Access Control Officer in a healthcare location you will help manage entry points verify credentials and guide staff patients and visitors with a calm customer-focused approach. You will conduct routine patrols and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents while documenting activity and communicating clearly with site teams. This is a driving post requiring a valid drivers license supported by Allied Universals agile reliable innovative people-first culture grounded in teamwork and integrity.

What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to patients visitors vendors and/or staff by following site-specific access control procedures security-related protocols and when appropriate emergency response activities.
- Control entry and exit at designated access points by confirming authorization issuing visitor credentials and directing individuals to appropriate locations within the facility.
- Monitor alarms cameras and/or access control systems and report irregular activity maintenance issues and policy concerns through required documentation and notification channels.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner coordinating with onsite personnel and/or local responders as directed by site procedures.
- Conduct routine security-related rounds of assigned interior areas to help to deter unauthorized access verify doors and restricted areas are maintained per policy and document observations per post orders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have 1 years of security experience.
- A valid drivers license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
