**Job Description:**
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner / Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive inpatient care within a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting thorough neonatal assessments performing daily rounds and overseeing the management of critically ill and preterm infants.
- Collaborating closely with on-staff Neonatologists to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Actively participating in multidisciplinary rounds coordinating care across nursing and ancillary teams.
- Utilizing Epic EMR for precise and timely documentation of patient information.
- Educating and counseling families about neonatal conditions and corresponding treatment plans.
- Supporting the stabilization and ongoing management of high-risk newborns.
- Working a flexible schedule comprised of 24-hour 10-hour and 8-hour shifts in a structured team-based environment rather than engaging in autonomous practice.
- Ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and quality standards.
Candidates must have successfully completed an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) program. New graduates who are board eligible are encouraged to apply as there are no exemptions from this requirement.
**Qualifications:**
- Board Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner / NNP (to be achieved by start date) is mandatory.
- Active Michigan nursing license is required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Demonstrated ability to work varying shifts of 24 10 and 8 hours.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) with a preference for those experienced in Epic.
- Willingness to undergo a 34 month credentialing process.
- A clean malpractice and licensing history is essential.
- Submission of the most recent NPDB Self Query Report (obtained within 30 days of application).
**Certification Requirements:**
- Basic Life Support (BLS)- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
**State License Requirements:**
- Michigan license required with additional qualifications for Neonatal Nurse Practitioner training.
- Must meet hospital credentialing requirements and be eligible for licensure in Michigan.
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic is preferred).
