PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Systems Analyst is responsible for technical design development and application support for Simon Property group financial systems This role will work closely with business customers and team members to support the consolidation process the planning and forecasting process in addition to managing the data integration process of various financial systems.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidates responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Manage the development and support for financial system integrations
- Manage application security audit and other configuration activities necessary to implement change
- Writes complex calculation scripts & business rules based on requirements not limited to consolidations currency conversions and eliminations
- Interacts with business clients to understand define analyze develop and deliver on requirements
- Provides input on project schedules and task effort estimates
- Enhances performance tunes and optimizes outline and calculation scripts
- Supports hierarchy changes and update of substitution variables and business rules
- Monitor product upgrades and new releases and communicates relevant findings to the primary administrators of the system
- Supports monthly quarterly and annual financial closing process
- Confers with Infrastructure group and customers to obtain additional information or to interpret policies and procedures for reporting changes / problems
- Fosters communications between technical groups and the business customers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong analytical problem-solving and conceptual skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well on cross-functional project teams and foster team commitment to tasks
- Experience with financial consolidations budgeting planning and reporting processes
- Proven success with developing solutions involving complex calculation scripts & business rules
- Familiarity with SEC reporting accounting fundamentals etc.
- Has working knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle
- Understanding of Change Management process and procedures
- Working knowledge of project management methodology is a plus
- Exposure to business process re-engineering is a plus
- REIT industry knowledge is a plus
- Oracle or Anaplan certification is a plus
- Bachelors degree required
