Job Summary

Purpose

The Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences invites applications for a Lecturer position under the New Generation of Academic Scholars Programme (NGAP) which is a nationally funded programme aimed at developing the next generation of academics through a structured and supported career-development pathway.

The successful candidate will be appointed as a lecturer in Retail Business Management in management Sciences while receiving reduced teaching loads and structured mentorships to support the completion of a doctoral qualification development of teaching competence and establishment of a research profile in Retail Business Management Marketing or Business Management. The incumbent will contribute to undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching curriculum development and academic activities within the department in line with the objectives of the NGAP and the institution.

Minimum requirements

Masters degree in Retail Business Management or masters degree in business management or any equivalent Masters degree (specializing in Marketing or Small Business Management).
Prospective candidates should have achieved an average of 70% or above at masters level.
Must be forty (40) years or younger.
At least two years teaching experience in a higher education environment
Commit to the completion of Doctoral studies within a prescribed period.
Be a South African citizen.
