Job Description
As a Security Officer - Shipping Companyin Portage MI you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution and more. As a Screener at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location you will greet employees drivers and visitors verify credentials and complete entry screening and bag or package checks. You will remain visible at key access points document incidents and communicate clearly with operations teams to help reduce security-related concerns. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to associates drivers contractors and visitors by following security-related procedures site-specific policies and when appropriate emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Screen individuals vehicles and deliveries at designated entry points including verifying identification confirming authorization and assisting with visitor and/or contractor check-in processes.
- Inspect items brought into controlled areas as required by site policy helping to deter prohibited items while maintaining a professional and respectful approach.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner documenting activities and communicating with site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas such as entrances docks staging areas and perimeter routes noting irregular activity and reporting concerns according to post orders.
Minimum Requirements:
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
