Job Summary:

As a Software Engineer you will play a critical role in designing and delivering scalable secure and highperformance systems that underpin our marketleading platforms. Youll work on complex engineering challenges mentor talented engineers and help shape technical direction across our product ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver clean testable and maintainable software solutions
- Build reusable microservices and secure public and private APIs
- Implement effective caching strategies to support highperformance systems
- Apply strong security practices aligned with financial services regulations
- Use AI tools in daily engineering and quality activities with an interest in practical AIenabled solutions
- Implement multilayer caching to optimise response times
- Optimise data access patterns and cache invalidation strategies
- Build scalable solutions capable of handling high levels of concurrency
- Tune database queries and system performance to support growth
- Create and maintain highquality technical documentation and coding standards
- Conduct peer code reviews and champion engineering best practices
- Identify manage and proactively reduce technical debt
- Maintain system documentation including change and incident records
- Provide technical leadership aligned to business objectives
- Mentor engineers and support ongoing professional development
- Champion Agile practices and actively participate in ceremonies
- Collaborate closely with Product Architecture QA DevOps and Cyber teams
- Support technical decisionmaking across delivery and support functions
- Assist application support teams to maintain system stability and security
- Diagnose and resolve production issues using established processes
- Participate in occasional afterhours support to ensure service continuity
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Software Engineer and/or in a senior technical role
- Strong experience designing and building distributed systems and microservices
- Strong proficiency with (experience with NestJS is highly regarded)
- Proven expertise in API design and system integration and solid web development experience using HTML CSS JavaScript TypeScript and at least one modern web framework
Experience with relational databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server) and nonrelational databases (MongoDB desirable)
- Experience with cloudbased development (GCP experience is a bonus)
- Experienced in using AI tools as part of everyday software quality practices with a keen interest in engineering testing and evolving AIenabled solutions that enhance quality insight and operational efficiency.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
Additional Technical Expertise (Highly Desirable)
- Data caching technologies (e.g. DuckDB)
- Golang
- (.NET Core / C#)
