Job Summary

  • Draft revise and advise on employment-related documents including offer letters separation agreements confidentiality agreements and commission and bonus plans.
  • Advise on all aspects of performance management.
  • Support on internal investigations.
  • Provide advice and assistance in both individual and collective employment rights and obligations
  • Manage cross-border employment issues and collaborate with the employment team on global projects.
  • Manage employment-related projects including process reviews and the creation implementation and continual improvement of policies and procedures.
  • Create and update training programs on various employment law topics.
  • Oversee and/or provide support regarding employment-related litigation claims charges investigations audits and subpoenas.
  • Monitor employment law-related legislation regulations legal developments and government oversight activities that may affect the Company in APAC.
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence.
  • Strong project management skills.

Qualifications :

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a top tier law firm and in-house legal department with specific focus on employment law throughout the APAC region. Experience specifically with the law in Philippines and Thailand a plus.
  • Law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in Singapore or the ability to register as In-House Counsel in Singapore
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand potentially complex legal issues and translate into simple and effective guidance for internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to find creative solutions to achieve business goals.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication and presentation skills required.
  • Experience working in (or with) technology companies and/or in the technology industry preferred.
  • Comfortable balancing and prioritizing competing/ shifting demands and deadlines from multiple stakeholders.
  • Track record of providing high-quality timely results on a wide variety of commercial matters.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership of work and demonstrates the ability to work independently.
  • Team player with a strong sense of collaboration with other stakeholders both within the legal department and cross-functionally.
  • Growth mindset with a desire to understand the companys business and industry.
  • International experience with a highly regarded top tier law firm required.
  • Experience of working for a global and US based company (either in house or as a client) required.
  • Experience partnering with business to respond to legal issues and establish strategic priorities.
