What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
As a key member of our technical team you will:
- Build and Assemble: Assist with building custom test boxes fabricating special cables and creating mounting fixtures for new sensors.
- Work on Test Vehicles: Get hands-on with our fleet by installing and removing vehicle components (like bumpers and sensors) and running diagnostic reports.
- Support Testing Activities: Act as a target car driver for system tests (e.g. Predictive Emergency Braking) help collect on-road data and assist with vehicle test cases.
- Manage the Workshop: Help keep our lab areas organized and ready for the next project.
- Update Vehicle Systems: Assist the team during ECU (Electronic Control Unit) software re-flashing activities.
Qualifications :
Required Skills and Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about automotive technology and eager to learn through doing.
- Education: You must be actively enrolled in an Associates degree program from a 2-year college or technical school.
Target fields include Automotive Technology Mechatronics Robotics Electrical Technology or a related skilled trade.
- Hands-On Skills:
- Practical experience using common hand tools and power tools.
- A solid understanding of basic vehicle mechanics and electrical systems either from coursework labs or personal projects.
- A valid drivers license and a good driving record are essential for this role.
- Ability to read basic electrical schematics or mechanical drawings is a major plus.
- General Skills:
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook).
- Must be able to work more than 24 hours per week.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Our Focus: We value practical experience and a passion for learning. Relevant coursework lab projects and a demonstrated interest in automotive technology will be strongly considered.
