IT Support Tech I provides an opportunity that teaches those new to a technology support position the theoretical and practical knowledge that can be used in the information technology industry and gives participants a competitive edge over other applicants when applying for future jobs.
Example of Duties:
Will be offered the opportunity to gain an HP Certification for repairing devices manufactured by Hewlett Packard (HP)
Will work in an online ticketing system working directly with customers by responding to service requests
Will answer incoming calls from BCPS students staff and community members if assigned to the DoIT help desk
Will learn how to perform complete diagnostics and repairs on laptop or desktop computers (including but not limited to repairing hardware components cleaning computers and installing operating systems)
Will participate in technical trainings and gain knowledge of real-world technical practices
Will assist with technology set-up in classrooms and offices
We would like to welcome youth with the below skills (not all inclusive):
Previous computer repair experience (preferred not required)

Minimum Qualifications:
Education Training and Experience:
BCPS rising high school junior senior and current senior students.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Current students enrolled in specific programs preferred.

Citizenship residency or work VISA in United States required.
Salary:$15.00 per hour
