Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed Courthouse Patrol in Queens NY you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Part-Time Security Officer you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. Learn more: As an Armed Patrol Officer at a high-traffic government transportation location you will conduct routine patrols maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents and respond to concerns with clear communication and strong customer service. You will document observations coordinate with site stakeholders and support orderly access and operations. What Youll Do:

  • Provide customer service to passengers visitors and staff by following site-specific procedures government facility policies and when appropriate emergency response activities.
  • Carry and maintain assigned duty weapon and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies state and local laws licensing requirements and post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities and surrounding perimeter areas including entrances corridors platforms and parking areas documenting observations and reporting hazards and/or maintenance concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including disturbances medical calls suspicious activity and unauthorized access coordinating with site leadership and local responders as directed.
  • Complete security-related reports and logs monitor cameras and/or alarm systems when assigned and communicate clearly with supervisors and public agency personnel to support daily operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
  • An Armed Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
