Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Continuity & Recovery Specialist with 57 years of hands-on expertise in IT continuity planning backup operations disaster recovery (DR) coordination and resilience management. As an L2 Project Manager (PM) you will be responsible for ensuring that IT systems applications and infrastructure can withstand disruptions and recover within defined SLAs. You will coordinate with technology operations cybersecurity and business teams to maintain robust continuity and backup strategies.
Key Responsibilities
IT Continuity & Resilience Management
Implement maintain and continuously improve IT continuity strategies aligned with business objectives.
Conduct Business Impact Assessments (BIA) to identify critical systems RTO/RPO requirements and recovery priorities.
Ensure IT continuity procedures support compliance with internal policies and regulatory frameworks (ISO 22301 ISO 27001 etc.).
Develop and maintain IT Continuity Plans (ITCP) and associated documentation.
Disaster Recovery (DR) Management
Coordinate DR planning testing execution and validation across applications and infrastructure.
Lead end-to-end DR drills including tabletop simulation and full-scale recovery tests.
Ensure DR capabilities are aligned to architecture availability design and risk requirements.
Track findings and remediation actions from DR tests to closure.
Backup Management
Oversee enterprise backup strategy execution and monitoring across servers databases and applications.
Ensure compliance with retention policies backup schedules and data protection standards.
Track backup failures perform root cause analysis and ensure timely corrective actions.
Coordinate restoration tests to validate backup integrity.
Operations & Stakeholder Coordination
Act as the L2 PM coordinating continuity backup and DR activities across multiple teams (Infra Cloud DBA App Support Cybersecurity Business).
Support incident response by providing recovery and data restoration options during outages.
Manage SLAs dependencies risks and status reporting related to continuity and backup operations.
Provide leadership with metrics dashboards and compliance reports.
Required Skills & Experience
57 years of experience in IT continuity disaster recovery or backup operations roles.
Strong knowledge of ITIL Business Continuity (BCM) DR frameworks RTO/RPO concepts Backup & Restore processes.
Hands-on exposure to backup tools and platforms such as Veeam Commvault NetBackup Rubrik Azure/AWS backups.
Good understanding of Windows/Linux servers databases storage systems cloud workloads and virtualisation.
Experience conducting continuity and DR tests end-to-end.
Strong stakeholder management communication and project coordination skills.
Good to Have
Certifications such as ITIL CBCP ISO 22301 Lead Implementer/Auditor AWS/Azure DR certifications.
Experience in hybrid cloud environments.
Exposure to cyber-resilience and ransomware recovery planning.
