A global logistics and supply chain company headquartered in the USA with operations across Malaysia and Singapore. The company provides warehousing freight forwarding and international distribution services to multinational clients supporting regional and cross-border import and export activities.
As part of its expansion in Malaysia the company is operating a large Free Trade Zone (FTZ) warehouse facility in Johor to support duty-free import storage and export operations.
Job Summary
The Lead Analyst Trade Compliance is responsible for managing import and export compliance activities working closely with freight forwarders customs brokers and internal operations teams to ensure smooth international shipments.
This role will also support process improvement initiatives and act as a key contact for customs-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end import and export shipments
- Liaise with freight forwarders customs brokers and government authorities
- Ensure accurate and timely customs documentation and declarations
- Review shipping documents (invoice packing list BL/AWB COO etc.)
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian Customs and FTZ regulations
- Handle customs queries audits or shipment holds
- Support HS code classification and tariff verification
- Monitor and improve trade compliance processes
- Work closely with warehouse operations and regional teams
- Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in trade compliance freight forwarding or logistics
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian import/export procedures and customs regulations
- Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders
- Familiar with Incoterms and basic Free Trade Agreement (FTA) concepts
- Experience in FTZ environment is an added advantage
- Able to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Degree in Logistics Supply Chain Business or related field preferred
