The IT Help Desk Coordinator is responsible for providing first-line IT support across the organisation ensuring the smooth operation of hardware software network and peripheral systems. The role involves troubleshooting repair and maintenance activities coordinating helpdesk operations managing IT assets and contributing to IT infrastructure and improvement initiatives.



Duties & Responsibilities

Helpdesk Coordination

  • Coordinate and oversee daily operations of the IT Helpdesk System.
  • Assign prioritise and track service tickets to ensure timely resolution.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for unresolved technical incidents.
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests resolutions and system changes.

Technical Support

  • Provide first-line technical support for hardware software and network-related issues.
  • Perform installations upgrades and repairs of computer systems peripherals and related equipment.
  • Support Teams Voice administration including user setup and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct vulnerability scanning patch management and system updates as required.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies cybersecurity standards and best practices.

Asset & Inventory Management

  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT assets including hardware software and spare components.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of equipment and consumables.
  • Support lifecycle management including asset deployment reallocation decommissioning and disposal.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare progress performance and incident reports on IT support activities.
  • Document system configurations troubleshooting processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify trends in recurring issues and recommend improvements to reduce downtime and improve service delivery.

Project Coordination

  • Participate in or coordinate ad-hoc IT projects and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to support project delivery and system enhancements.


Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 23 years experience in IT support helpdesk coordination or a similar technical role.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware operating systems and the Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Experience with Teams Voice vulnerability scanning and patch management (advantageous).
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow Jira Service Desk or similar platforms (preferred).

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of IT support processes systems and service desk operations.
  • Proficiency in hardware diagnostics software setup and endpoint support.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and incident management.
