The Role

• Teaching Resistant Materials across KS3 and KS4 with KS5 available depending on experience

• Planning and delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons

• Teaching core areas including materials properties construction techniques product design and manufacturing processes

• Supporting pupils with coursework practical assessments and examination preparation

• Maintaining high standards of workshop safety and equipment management

• Encouraging creativity precision and independent problem-solving

• Contributing to curriculum development within the wider Design & Technology faculty

• Supporting extracurricular opportunities such as design competitions or STEM initiatives

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• A degree in Design & Technology Engineering Product Design or a related field

• Experience teaching Resistant Materials at KS3 and KS4

• Strong practical workshop knowledge and confidence using tools and machinery

• A clear understanding of health & safety procedures in a workshop environment

• High expectations for pupil engagement behaviour and achievement

• A collaborative and professional approach to departmental work
