Job Summary

A well-established and forward-thinking secondary school in Manchester is seeking an experienced and proactive Premises Manager to oversee the management maintenance and development of the schools facilities. This is a full-time permanent leadership support role.

About the School

The school is recognised for its high academic standards inclusive ethos and well-maintained facilities. The Premises Manager is a key member of the support staff team responsible for ensuring the site is safe secure and operational to support teaching learning and extracurricular activities.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the premises team including caretakers and site staff.

  • Oversee maintenance repairs and ongoing development of school buildings and grounds.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations including fire safety risk assessments and statutory checks.

  • Manage site security systems including alarms access control and CCTV.

  • Supervise contractors and manage service agreements.

  • Plan and manage premises budgets and expenditure.

  • Ensure facilities are prepared for events lettings and exams.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in premises facilities or estates management (school experience preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and statutory compliance.

  • Experience managing staff and coordinating contractors.

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to respond effectively to operational demands.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children.
