Job Summary

This is an opportunity to lead attraction retention and workforce planning strategies to shape the future of Indigenous employment across UWA

  • Lead employment strategy across UWA to grow and strengthen UWAs Indigenous workforce
  • Drive programs that support long-term career pathways and culturally safe workplaces for Indigenous staff

  • Full-time appointment on an ongoing basis
  • Base salary range: $153165 $159132 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous leads the Indigenous Portfolio across UWA including delivery of the Universitys Indigenous Workforce Strategy and the stewardship of key Indigenous-focused entities such as the Berndt Museum and the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health. The Portfolio plays a central role in strengthening Indigenous knowledges supporting Indigenous students and staff and driving strategic initiatives that create meaningful and lasting impact across the University.

About the opportunity

  • Lead the development implementation and continuous improvement of UWAs Indigenous Workforce Strategy and Action Plan at a University-wide level.
  • Drive workforce programs that strengthen attraction retention development and leadership pathways for Indigenous staff in partnership with People & Culture.
  • Provide senior strategic advice enhance organisational accountability and guide a small team to ensure strong alignment between strategy and ontheground workforce delivery.

About you

  • Extensive experience in Indigenous employment strategy; added experience within a university or similar complex environment is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with Indigenous peoples communities and stakeholders.
  • Capability to embed Indigenous perspectives into workforce design advice and culturally informed decision-making.
  • Strong communication relationship-building and program delivery skills.
  • High-level organisational analytical and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

A current National Police Clearance will be required by the successful applicant.

Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage will be required for the successful applicant prior to appointment.
