Job Summary
SummaryResponsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the financial reporting team ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements reports and disclosures.
Essential Functions
-Supervise and mentor a team of financial reporting professionals providing guidance training and performance evaluations.
-Delegate tasks set priorities and ensure workloads are effectively managed within the team.
-Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements ensuring accuracy completeness and adherence to accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS).
-Assist team members with complex accounting and reporting issues.
-Lead the month-end and quarter-end close processes including reconciliations journal entries and variance analysis.
-Ensure deadlines are met and financial reporting activities are conducted in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Education
- Associates Degree Finance required or Bachelors Degree Finance preferred
Experience
- 3-5 years required experience in financial reporting accounting or related roles.
- 1-2 years required experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- - Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- - Proficiency in financial systems and software as well as advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other analysis tools.
- - Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- - Effective communication skills both written and verbal to convey financial information clearly and concisely.
- - Ability to lead motivate and develop a team fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
- - Knowledge of regulatory compliance and experience with external audits is advantageous.
