Objective / Purpose:

ThePrincipal Scientist will play a key role in building the next generation of Takedas automation-enabled research environment in Target Validation Sciences Unit. This position drives thedesign implementation and optimization of automated and digital experimental workflowsthat enable high-quality scalable data generation to acceleratetarget validation and translational decision-making. Working at the intersection ofbiology technology and data this role transforms complex experimental workflows intoreproducible automation-ready systems directly supporting Takedas future-focused AI/ML-driven R&D strategy.

Accountabilities:

• Automation and Workflow Development: Design implement and optimize automated laboratory workflows that accelerate hypothesis testing enhance reproducibility and improve throughput across therapeutic areas that Takeda focuses on such as Oncology GI & inflammation and Neuroscience.

• Digital and Data Integration: Develop and integrate digital lab systems and intelligent instrumentation to ensure seamless data capture traceability and interoperability across platforms.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely withComputational Sciences (CS)Drug Discovery Units (DDU) andpre-PS teamsto align automation and data workflows with AI/ML-driven discovery and validation initiatives.

Education & Competencies (Technical and Behavioral):

• Ph.D. in Biology Engineering Automation or related field with3 years of relevant experience; or M.S. with5 years of hands-on lab automation experiencein a research or pharmaceutical setting.
• 生物学工学自動化または関連分野の博士号Ph.D.を有し3年以上の関連経験を有する方または修士号M.S.を有し研究または製薬企業環境で5年以上のラボ自動化の実務経験を有する方
• Proven expertise inautomation of cell-based assays molecular biology workflows or high-content screening.
• 細胞ベースアッセイ分子生物学ワークフローまたはハイコンテントスクリーニングの自動化における優れた専門性を有する方
• Experience integrating digital lab systems like LIMS ELN and data pipelines with automated platforms is preferred.
• LIMSELNデータパイプラインなどのデジタルラボシステムを自動化プラットフォームと統合した経験のある方が望ましい
• Strong understanding ofAI/ML applications in experimental design and data analysisis preferred.
