Job Summary

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital in Brattleboro Vermont is seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Staff Orthopedic Surgeon to join its dynamic Orthopedics team offering comprehensive musculoskeletal care and surgical excellence within a collaborative healthcare Description:The Staff Orthopedic Surgeon will provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care to patients across the continuum including evaluation treatment surgery and follow-up. Responsibilities include:Diagnose and evaluate orthopedic conditions through physical examinations medical history reviews and diagnostic imaging such as X-rays MRI and CT scansDevelop individualized treatment plans utilizing both surgical and non-surgical approachesPerform a wide range of orthopedic surgical procedures including joint replacements fracture repairs arthroscopy and other orthopedic interventionsProvide pre-operative and post-operative care ensuring patient safety recovery and optimal outcomesCollaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including primary care providers physical therapists occupational therapists and rehabilitation specialistsParticipate in rotating on-call coverage as part of a full-time orthopedic serviceMaintain accurate timely and complete patient medical records including documentation of evaluations treatment plans and surgical outcomesCommunicate effectively with patients families and healthcare team members regarding diagnoses treatment options and care plansStay current with advancements in orthopedic surgery and apply evidence-based practices to clinical decision-makingParticipate in continuing medical education professional development activities conferences and workshopsAdhere to ethical professional and regulatory standards including patient confidentiality informed consent and hospital policiesProficiency in orthopedic surgical techniques and procedures including familiarity with the latest diagnostic and problem-solving skills to effectively assess and treat orthopedic interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with patients and collaborate with healthcare -oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and patient to ongoing professional development and staying updated with emerging trends and research in orthopedic open to candidates who commute more than 1 hourNot accepting visa candidatesNot open to LOCUM or LOCUM to PERM candidatesNot open to candidates who plan to work this job in conjunction with another positionCompensation and Benefits: Annual Salary Range: $300000 to $360000 (in accordance with Vermont Act 155) Compensation is based on:Relevant experienceEducationInternal equityMarket competitivenessFinal compensation to be determined during the hiring processCertification RequirementsBoard CertifiedBoard EligibleCPRState License RequirementsVermontAdditional License RequirementsBoard certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery
