The Role

BGC isseekingan Intermediate Geological or Geotechnical Engineer with a passion to expand their knowledge of geotechnical testing for our advanced soil and rock testing facility in Fredericton New Brunswick (BGC Engineering Fredericton NB ()).

BGCs laboratory isa state-of-the-artfacility which specializes in strength compressibility and permeability testing of soil and strength testing of rock. Our testing equipment includes cyclic dynamic simple shear servo-controlled fully automated triaxial and automated oedometer systems. The intermediate engineer will act as a mentor and technical expert andbe responsible forexecuting geotechnical laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform index testing and advanced geotechnical testing of soil

• Provide support to BGC projects through interpretation of advanced laboratory testing results and the selection of design parameters

• Support the execution of laboratory testing programs and managing multiple projects with varying deadlines and responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory test reports

• Train and mentor laboratory staff and laboratory visitors

• Follow lab procedures for safety and quality

• May support BGC projects with office-based geotechnical analyses when

Required Education Experience & Competencies

• Bachelors degree inCivil Geological or Geotechnical Engineeringwitha focus in soil mechanics

• Masters degreewith hands-onexperience ingeotechnical laboratory testingis preferred

• 210 years of relevant industry experience or 08 years with a masters degree

• Eligible for professional registration as an EIT or PEng

• Desire to work in a lab and perform advanced soil testing

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Position Requirements

Drug & Alcohol Testing

Drivers License

BGC requires that employees have a valid drivers license and that employees can drive a field pickup truck. Upon hiring BGCwill requirea drivers abstract to allow for a safety review of your driving history.

Compensation

The estimated base salary range for this position is $75000-$125000CAD per annum however base pay will becommensuratewith job-related knowledge skills and experience. BGCs compensation package also includes adiscretionary bonus plantraining allowanceand comprehensive medical and dental plan.
