Job Summary

Terms of Employment: 194-day contract with $5000 stipend for additional responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Valid Iowa teaching license with special education endorsement.
  • Minimum of three years of successful special education teaching experience.
  • Masters Degree preferred.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse groups to include teachers administrators and students.
  • Demonstrate strong facilitation and communication
  • Proficient in the implementation of curriculum assessment and
  • Demonstrate skills in using student and work performance data to make informed instructional
  • Demonstrate effective collaborative skills with other
  • Demonstrate the ability to differentiate curriculum to meet the diverse needs of all students.
  • Engage in learning and implementing new ideas and
  • Dedicated commitment to on-going professional
  • Ability to reflect on own practice and lead reflective coaching conversations with colleagues.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal problem solving and organizational skills required to effectively facilitate coaching strategies and staff development

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

PERSONAL PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

  • Model best instructional practices for special education students through actual classroom demonstrations.
  • Assist teachers in integrating meaningful strategies for special education students into instructional
  • Researching planning implementing and facilitating professional and job- embedded professional learning to staff
  • Participate in the new teacher induction process specifically supporting our new special education teachers and associates.
  • Identify appropriate opportunities for teachers to observe exemplary instructional practices that support our special education
  • Collaborate with administration TLC leaders and other staff members to support and participate as needed in advancing the PLC and data team processes centered on special education
  • Collect and analyze teacher implementation data of district
  • Collect and analyze student learning and achievement data to determine the impact of instructional
  • Utilize data to engage all administrators teachers and other staff members in discussion and training opportunities designed to improve efforts in supporting special education

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with District Administrators and Teaching & Learning Staff in support of District professional learning days.
  • Collaborate with building ILTs and administrators to facilitate professional learning at the building
  • Attend district level instructional coaching meetings and
  • Work with Director of Special Education to ensure that the district is compliant with all state and federal mandates regarding special education learners.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
