Your Role in Supporting Our Members
As a Compensation Consultant you are a seasoned subject matter expert responsible for managing day-to-day compensation programs that support evolving business needs. You lead compensation initiatives end-to-end partnering closely with business leaders Talent and People Consulting to provide expert data-driven recommendations. You also deliver compensation training and translate complex data into clear compelling insights that inform decision-making.
This is a 9 month contract role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office.
How Youll Make an Impact:
- Partnering with the Manager Compensation on developing project plans and executing projects to support the organization with compensation programs while ensuring solutions are based on strong analytics and insights.
- Leading the annual compensation cycle including planning and execution of compensation fundamentals work such as annual increases incentive/bonus payouts reporting re-structures review of compensation plans and salary survey participation.
- Working with business client groups to provide advice and coaching on compensation situations programs and provide training to leaders and People & Culture as needed.
- Reviewing compensation policies programs and structures to ensure continued alignment with legislation and best practices. Provide recommendations based on industry trends and legislation ensuring that programs are competitive and support organizational strategy.
- Coaching and mentoring team members on Vancity practices and compensation fundamentals work
What youll bring to the team:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Business Economics Finance Analytics or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- At least 4-5 years of progressive experience in compensation within a medium to large complex organization
- Proven experience leading enterprise-level compensation cycles end-to-end including annual increases incentive/bonus payouts governance reporting and stakeholder communications.
- Demonstrated expertise in compensation program design and implementation including salary structures job architecture market pricing and broad-based short-term incentive programs (sales or performance-based).
- Strong experience evaluating leveling and benchmarking roles across diverse business functions using recognized job evaluation methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor providing clear confident compensation guidance to leaders Talent and People Consulting partners.
Bonus points if you have:
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR or CHRP) designation.
- Experience supporting compensation programs within financial services unionized or highly regulated environments.

What Youll Earn:
This role offers a salary range of $86400 - $106000. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications skills previous experience and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program subject to program eligibility requirements.
