Salary Schedule is based on the2026-2027 school Siuslaw School District allows step credit the salary scale for years of certified teaching experience.

This is a 10-month/renewable position that includes benefits of paid medical and leave.

TITLE:Math Intervention Teacher Certified 1.0 FTE Siuslaw Middle School

PRIMARY FUNCTION:Instructs students in supplemental intervention classroom program for Siuslaw Middle Schools Title I school-wide program. Assist in the planning organization and implementation of Title I programs at the middle school under the direction of the building principal. Provide instructional intervention for students in math and science skills application and structure of course assignment(s) including online programs.

RESPONSIBLE TO:Building Principal.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Oregon Teaching Certificate valid for assignment.
  • Appropriate endorsement level and subject matter.
  • Familiarity with and ability to make appropriate use of technology.
  • Administer and support on-line instruction.
  • Experience evaluating student transcripts.
  • Strong behavior and classroom management skills.
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Possess foundational understanding of Title IA principles and legal requirements and continue to develop and update deeper knowledge.
  • Establishes and maintains orderly and supportive classroom environment in which students are actively participating and show respect for one another and for the teacher.
  • Maintains a physical environment conducive to learning.
  • Works to educate holistically; teaches social and citizenship skills as well as academic skills.
  • Selects or designs and uses planned sequences of instruction to meet the intent of the course objectives.
  • Matches activities and materials to individual and group skills and needs.
  • Create and implement community and project based learning.
  • Identifies diagnoses and prescribes remediation for individual or group problems in assigned course work.
  • Ensures that instructional activities and materials are clearly related to District school and department goals and objectives.
  • Provides instruction based on designated instructional guides or develops alternate materials in prescribed District format.
  • Looks for and develops applications of mathematical operations and procedures in everyday life.
  • Maximizes time when students are paying attention and working on tasks directly related to the subject matter.
  • Conducts interesting and well-paced classes using a variety of instructional techniques
  • Gives clear directions and makes sure students understand what to do before undertaking assignments.
  • Assesses keeps track of and provides feedback promptly and often to students on their progress and assignments.
  • Updates gradebook regularly and keeps website up to date.
  • Uses a grading system that is consistent fair and supportable.
  • Selects and requisitions the required supplies and equipment through the proper school and department channels.
  • Ensures that books materials and equipment are properly used maintained and stored and that inventory records are accurate and current.
  • Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities as assigned.
  • Participates cooperatively on school area and District-wide activities including development of planned course statements tests and textbook adoptions. Responds in a cooperative and positive manner to supervision.
  • Maintains open lines of communication with parents classified staff licensed staff and support personnel to establish a positive work environment.
  • Assumes responsibility for assigned duties i.e. hallway supervision lunch count bus duty etc.
  • Attends and participates in faculty meetings and all relevant IEP & 504 meetings.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all student data including IEP and 504 information.
  • Achieves professional growth through consultation with District support staff and attendance at building and District in-service meetings.
  • Establishes and maintains a good working relationship with building administrators and staffcooperating to resolve problems in a professional manner so that the concerns of all parties are considered.
  • Follows specified standards policies and procedures of the department the building and District.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Maintains satisfactory attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to organize and maintain efficient time schedule.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff students and the public.
  • Good communication organization and computer skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Emotional and physical stamina to perform duties as required by the designated task except for temporary disability.
  • Effective oral/written communication skills in order to work collaboratively with a variety of school personnel as well as parents of students with disabilities and/or unique needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is performed in school environments.
  • May work with high stress student family or personnel situations.
  • May require occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Involves bending lifting crouching reaching standing sitting walking fine manipulation twisting/turning and repetitive movements.
  • Requires the use of computers and office equipment.

MINIMUM TERM OF EMPLOYEMENT:Teacher Contract

SALARY LEVEL:Placement on Certified Salary Schedule

EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Boards policy on Evaluation.
