The opportunity:
Were looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to join our UK Broker team covering the South/South East region reporting into the Head of Business Development.
Our UK Broker Channel is the largest and fastestgrowing area of Markel this role youll take ownership of key broker relationships shaping account plans building pipeline and driving sustainable growth across the region.
Youll work closely with:
Strategic Partner teams
New business and existing business underwriters
Wider Markel business units to bring our sector propositions to life and deliver real value for brokers and their clients
What youll be doing:
Owning and delivering account plans for allocated broker relationships
Building strong longterm partnerships through regular development meetings
Working alongside regional underwriters to secure new business and win terms
Promoting and presenting Markels UK sector propositions with confidence
Identifying and developing new broker opportunities across the region
Accurately managing broker activity and insights within the CRM system
Contributing to regional discussions to support shared goals and growth
What were looking for:
Youll bring energy commercial insight and a genuine passion for relationshipled growth.
Ideally you will have:
Proven experience in Business Development within commercial insurance or the broker market
A consistent track record of developing pipeline and delivering against new business targets
Experience managing key broker accounts and strategic partnerships
The ability to build collaborative relationships with internal partners
A motivated approach and a desire to help build a market-leading business
