Combines the Regional Project Management Office and Risk Management Role with the Regional Project Controls role. For the scope of the Regional Project Management Office and Risk Management the Leader demonstrates accountability for functional business and broad company objectives. The PMO & Risk Leader will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise be involved in long-term planning and contribute to the overall business strategy. The role will drive common methodology processes and expertise globally promoting the project management culture and the execution excellence within GSI and in collaboration with the other Business Lines within Grid to develop first class global processes in project Management coordinate the digitization effort and implement the relevant KPI and reporting to ensure P&L and regional targets are achieved. For the scope of the Regional Project Controller the Leader is responsible to support the Project Schedule & Cost management of GSIs projects during ITO & OTR phase to ensure we deliver projects on-time and within budget. At ITO Project Controls is responsible to build a logical and feasible schedule that meets customer objectives by leveraging historical durations and lessons learned thereby forming the basis of an accurate cost estimate. During the OTR phase the main objective of Project Controls is to help identify escalate and mitigate potential schedule and cost overrun risks with the support of the various an event of schedule slippages Project Controls is also responsible for performing schedule delay analysis thereby taking proactive measures to help GSI win extension of time claim and expanding GSI margins.

Main Responsibilities
- He/she will take advantage of their expertise in supporting review of new opportunities supporting the Enterprise Risk Assessment across the GSI projects portfolio improving the performance and execution of active high-risks projects working collaboratively with the project execution teams on effective mitigations and business strategies and promoting best practices and tools for complex projects execution.
- Manage in a matrix environment the risks assessment done by all participating functions across the product lines engage in new opportunities evaluations project reviews maintain a risk register of turnkey execution challenges and mitigations and promote Lessons Learnt back to the ITO and across the OTR teams including the other Business Lines as relevant.
- Drive key metrics such as proper deal structuring margin enhancements (as executed Contract Margin (CM) greater than as sold) on time delivery/COD risk mitigation resource utilization quality safety etc. across the function the regions and the other Business Lines as applicable. Implement consistent project KPIs reporting and scorecards across the Regions.
- Promote a culture of open reporting highlighting teams key execution challenges and needed support and build a strong Business Line Project Management community to support resolution of complex project issues. Provide OTR Quality Management System (QMS) strategic guidance setting compliance with PM industrys standards Drive consistency of methodology Delegation of Authority (DoA) processes and tools across the Business Line identifying gaps and implementing improvements
- Create a common framework of project execution and workload models for proper staffing of headquarter and regional teams. Challenge status quo approach to project execution and drive effective best-in-class execution processes with focus on profitable growth business strategy and customer value solution
- Provide full scope of leadership for a team including performance evaluation annual assessment salary planning and employee development. Essential Responsibilities: Risk Management Provide financial and technical leadership for the Risk Management team in the development of risk management strategies and proposals for new and existing service contracts.
- Provide financial & technical expertise in the development of an overall risk management strategy for GSI and other Business Lines as required.
- Work to identify key opportunities for the application of risk assessment tools.
- Develop processes to support the extended Risk Management team Contract Managers Engineering staff Sales and other GE Vernova / Grid Solutions stakeholders.
- Lead efforts to automate modeling processes and analytical tools for more timely and accurate information sharing.
- Lead the region Project Controls team including both Schedule and Cost Control functions
- Ensure compliance to Global Standards for planning and cost control in the region
- Manage workload of team to ensure there is requisite resources and skills available to meet project needs
- Manage project portfolio and identify and mitigate transactional and systemic risks to cost and schedule
- Support and drive the creation and development of the Project Controls function in the region
- Collaborate and align with other regional function leaders and across Business Lines where required
- Overall supervision of team
- Travel to sites manufacturing facilities and customer / partner offices as and when required Tendering
- Ensure compliance to the tender process for planning and cost control
- Review opportunity pipeline and assign resources/support tenders in the regions with required schedule and cost control functional support
- Review tender schedules and cost to ensure the plan meets our standards and risks are properly communicated Project execution
- Ensure proper Project Controls support is assigned in time to support project launch
- Ensure project is launched with the Global Standards and proper process is followed Review project schedules and cost analytics to ensure we are accurately reporting the status and risk in the project
- Support and drive with PC team risk mitigations with PM and other functions
- Ensure reporting is aligned to the Global standards and is provided on timely basis with frequency required to successfully manage project
- Ensure required review meetings occur to manage the project and risks
- Contribute to month/quarter-end closing calendar
- Ensure claims management and successful project closeout Development
- Ensure team is trained and developed to support projects and creates a pipeline for future PC needs
- Ensure the team has the right level of know-how and competency to perform their responsibilities through coaching and development
- Regularly manage and review performance of employees according to Performance Management cycle (PMC) EHS
- Demonstrate EHS leadership to ensure Zero Deviation Plan is implemented within the team
- Takes responsibility to reward and encourage direct reports to take proactive steps toward all matters related to EHS in the workplace.
- Identifies and evaluate EHS risks in own area and implements practical measures in proactive partnership with operations and the local EHS team.
- Participates in hierarchical/ team safety visits and leads EHS improvement initiatives as and when defined. Quality & Lean
- Comply with Quality Procedures work instructions and Processes at GSI level and Contract Management function
- Report or resolve any non-conformances to process in a timely manner
- Identify areas of opportunity for standardization / optimization and where possible participate in a Kaizen or similar lean event to implement any identified improvements
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Solid relevant experience in highvoltage substation project engineering.
- BS in Engineering preferred
- Multi-year experience including 5 years in project management or Operations or Project Controls for complex project organization
- Deep domain knowledge of planning and use of Primavera
- Proven communication and negotiation skills
- Proven ability in developing and implementing strategies to accomplish business goals.
- High-energy self-motivated confident leader willing to take on responsibilities across geographic and business boundaries.
- Proven knowledge and experience of Project cost control and forensic analysis on large complex turnkey projects.
- Strong process execution and operational skills.
- Ability to coach & influence peers.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
