Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Department: Rehab

Reports To: Rehab Manager

We are seeking a casual SLP to join our team. This position will work one weekend a month and one holiday a year. Opportunities to work additional May - August to help fill in for staff time off is desired. This is a flexible and diverse position offering great variety. The position would be able to see inpatients outpatient adult outpatient pediatrics and perform video swallow studies. The work environment is extremely collaborative between multiple disciplines (PT OT SLP) and offers a fast-paced tempo with a fun patient population.

Job Summary:

Speech Language Pathologists are health care professionals who address the restoration of maximum function by providing diagnostic evaluative and treatment services to clients with speech language voice or swallowing problems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Provides Speech/Language evaluation treatment planning and treatment implementation to clients of all ages; addresses individual developmental cognitive and physical needs as well as cultural differences.

  2. Coordinates client care with other disciplines through good communication and intervention recommendations.

  3. Provides education information and training to clients family caregivers and community to promote continuity of care optimum therapeutic outcome and community health.

  4. Maintains documentation and records of treatment performance to assure quality client care meet regulatory and professional standards and receive optimal reimbursement.

  5. Acts as a consultant to internal and external customers.

  6. Maintains education knowledge and training required to provide up-to-date quality care to meet client case load and community needs and meet minimum national and state licensure requirements.

  7. Oversees Speech/Language students and volunteers.

  8. Participates in quality improvement and peer review to assure effective and efficient services.

  9. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Education Training or Degree Required:

1. Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.

License/Registration/Certification Required: (will be primary source verified by HR)

  1. Current license as a Speech Language Pathologist by the State of Minnesota.

  2. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology granted by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association or meets the educational requirements for certification and is able to accumulate the supervised experience required for certification.

  3. Current CPR certification required

Experience and Skills: (indicate preferred or required)

  1. Previous work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist is desirable but not required.
